THE GREATEST COMEBACK IN HISTORY!

They said it couldn't be done; for a major league baseball team to comeback from behind to overcome a 3-0 postseason series deficit. But that's exactly what the Boston Red Sox did on a Wednesday night last October to defeat the New York Yankees.

It's been 100 years since Boston last won a pennant in New York and with last fall's win, Sox fans hope the "curse" has been broken which has lasted for 86 years, ever since Babe Ruth was sold to the Yankees in 1920.

Fans from all over were interviewed on national news broadcasts. Some were saying things like "this is better than the World Series" and "all empires fall sooner or later" and "nothing short of amazing!"

Well, it may very well be the "greatest comeback in baseball history" as stated by Red Sox owner John Henry, but there is a comeback that outshines them all. When Jesus Christ was all but counted down and out, rejected by the world and suspended on a cross between heaven and earth. He was scorned and mocked by his enemies and deserted by his friends. When he finally did die, it looked as if his opponent, Satan had won! Even Jesus said, "but this is your hour, and the power of darkness."-Luke 22:53.

All hope of victory was seemingly lost. Even the disciples thought their hope lay buried in a tomb. On the road to Emmaus, just outside of Jerusalem they told the "stranger" that "we had hoped that he was the one who was going to redeem Israel. And what is more, it is the third day since all this took place." In other words, they really believed that Jesus' claim about the resurrection was finished. It had been three days and no Jesus!

"On the first day of the week, very early in the morning…they found the stone rolled away from the tomb…suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them…said, "Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen!"-Luke 24:1-6

The resurrection of Jesus Christ; it was without doubt, the greatest comeback in all of history!
