FOR SALE: ABSOLUTELY NOTHING

Well, it goes to show you that you can sell almost anything if someone is gullible enough to buy it. I heard recently on the news that there was a website on the internet where you could post an ad, well, for just about anything on a site connected to EBay. There were nonsensical items such as "a partially used pack of cigarettes," "one grandma for sale- $1,000,000," "one annoying little brother," one broken flashlight," and "an uneaten piece of Justin Timberlake's French toast!" These are all bizarre items to be sure, but the craziest idea was an ad that said, "For Sale: Absolutely Nothing." Even crazier than that is that folks were bidding on it!

The fellow that entered the item said in the description, "Why pay for items that you really don't need or can't use. They won't bring you happiness. Here is your chance to get absolutely nothing! And you'll never be disappointed, since you'll receive, that's right, "absolutely nothing!" Well, I suppose he's right! If you expect nothing, you'll never be disappointed!

Isn't it good to know, though, that in a world of worthless junk that people try to pass off as valuable and try to sell anything just to make a buck, that there are still some things of value, some things that last?

The Bible tells us that we have been saved, bought and purchased by the precious blood of Jesus Christ, not because we were valuable, but because He is! In turn, He gives us worth, where before we had none. Peter writes:

"For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed…but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect."-1 Peter 2:18-19.

God gave his most priceless possession so that you and I could be saved and be with him in eternity! And that's "Absolutely Something!" And it is the price that He paid because you were worth it!
